I think there’s something wrong about post’s thumb img in the homepage. Somnetimes the thumb is correct, but often the small img is taken fron other post…

  • on March 3, 2011 at 2:27 am

i can’t add the Slider Sub-text Notice because the summary field doesn’t below the Post editor.

I clicked on the post’s update button, as you recommend in the Documentation, and the field still not appears. Please help me!!!

    • Towfiq I.
      on March 3, 2011 at 6:43 am

You have to click two update button after putting you text in the summary field. One with the “summary” field and another in the top of the page.

  • on March 3, 2011 at 3:20 am

The theme is neat. Great job!

Hi Towfiqul, thanks for the updated version, it’s kinda half fixed it – now I get a thumbnail sized box with the image of a camera, not the actual image. Have I set it up wrong? Also is there anyway I can make the shortcode buttons supplied to open in the same window?
    Cheers muchly!
    Kat

    • Towfiq I.
      on March 3, 2011 at 7:57 am

The Amphion thumbnails work this way:
If there is a featured image it shows the featured image if not then it shows the a image from the post, if the post does not have any of these it shows the default camera photo.

About your shortcode question, I don’t understand what you are trying to do…

  • kat
    on March 3, 2011 at 8:15 am

Aha! thanks! Shortcode – I put the code in a page/post, and on the frontend when you click the button it opens the page in a new browser window. Is there a way I can make it open in the same browser window?

    • Towfiq I.
      on March 3, 2011 at 8:24 am

Go to Appearance > Editor and click on shortcode.php from right. Now remove this portion (located in previous line the end line.)

      ” target=”_blank”

      and click on update file.

Hi there! Love the theme, I’ve just begun fiddling around with it. I’m having an irritating issue though: when I make a post and it opens up the single post page, I want the text to wrap the images on either the right or the left depending on how they are aligned and they aren’t doing it. I got this bit of code from WP here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Wrapping_Text_Around_Images
But I’m not entirely sure where to put it into the stylesheet. Can you help me out? Thanks so much.

    • Towfiq I.
      on March 3, 2011 at 10:25 am

Go to Appearance> Editor and and click on “Stylesheet” from right now put the code on the very bottom and click “Update File”

i still cannot seem to get the summary text to show. there is NO summary field when i create or edit a post. there is a featured image field, but nothing for summary. how do i add this?

    • Towfiq I.
      on March 5, 2011 at 8:05 pm

If it is not created automatically you can create it yourself. Under the editor there is a box “Custom Fields”. Select summary from dropdown menu and write something in the text field right next to it. Now click on “Add Custom Field” button.

    • Petia

I have the same problem and the “Custom fields” box doesn’t show under the editor. Still not sure how to fix this.

  • on March 5, 2011 at 11:04 pm

I’m having some trouble with this. I’ve set a featured image and it looks great in the slider, but for some reason the “popular posts” widget has the default image of the camera instead of the thumbnail. something I’m doing wrong?

  • on March 6, 2011 at 1:12 am

Actually it gets worse. If I set a feature image to a post, it works in the slider but not the homepage blocks or “popular posts”. Then if i add an image into the post content, it uses the “feature image” to populate the blocks and widgets but not the one i added. Then if i remove the feature image, the blocks remain (using the now-removed feature image) but the slider image disappears.
    This is insanely frustrating.

  • on March 8, 2011 at 3:05 am

thanks for your response Towfiq. I left a response but it doesn’t look like you noticed it so i’ll re-post:

I did as you instructed and nothing has changed. For reference, this is a screenshot of what the page looks like:
    http://space-halo.com/refscreenshot.jpg

and the bottom of the stylesheet code:
    http://space-halo.com/codescreenshot.jpg

but it looks normal in the Visual preview (and that’s also what I want the text to do):

Just wondering if we can use an image in place of the header

  • on March 9, 2011 at 7:59 pm

Sorry, last time bugging you I promise. Thanks for your help; the version update did the trick.

The blocks are set to a certain category but often contain duplicates due to several categories being used for some entries. Can these blocks be set to retrieve just the 4 newest entries instead of set by category? I’d like to keep them because they look nice and catch attention. Thanks again.

    Hey,

    Great theme, thank you.

Is there any way to select multiple categories for the slider?

    • Towfiq I.
      on March 9, 2011 at 10:45 pm

No. But you can make a category called “featured” and add the the posts you want in your slider in that category and then select the category “featured” for the slider category.

      on March 11, 2011 at 4:56 pm

Every widget should have a title. Your search widget does not have a title. That’s why that happened. Try giving all the widgets a title.

  • on March 13, 2011 at 12:17 pm

I’m unable to change the category for the four boxes. I went to Amphion lite options and I changed it there and even clicked on the “my blocks are not working” option. Still it doesn’t change. Any way to adjust that?
    Thanks

    • Towfiq I.
      on March 13, 2011 at 1:45 pm

Your selected categories should have at least one post to display it in the blocks.

    • on March 14, 2011 at 5:05 pm

I’m having the same problem. I have only 2 posts on my blog, but I added each of them to every of the 4 categories I have, so that I was able to select each of the for categories for one block. But they never show up and they won’t change the category that’s shown as “selected” (it stays always the same category for all 4 blocks). Can you help me with that, please?

    • on March 14, 2011 at 5:11 pm

In fact, I have exactly one category that I am able to select that stays selected after I save the settings. But then a differen category is shown in each of the 4 boxes on my homepage. (I’m only able to select cat D in the settings. And only if I select this category, then always cat B is shown on the homepage. If I try to select cat A or C and save the settings then cat B shows up as selected category, if I go to the settings-page again – but in that case no block is displayed on the homepage.) Please help, this seems to be pretty buggy, yet. =)

    • on March 14, 2011 at 5:22 pm

Ok, I just figured out that this is because of I used & and ‘ signs in my category names. Maybe you should use the slug rather than the name of a category, or at least use character escaping.

I changed & to + and removed all ‘. Still one problem remains: No matter what categories I select, only one category shows up at my homepage, no matter whether I select the ‘My Blocks are not working. Fix It’ option, or not.

    • Towfiq I.
      on March 14, 2011 at 5:45 pm

Renet When a post has multiple categories the posts from one category is shown.Try creating four blocks and four different category for them. let me know whether it works or not I want to find out if it is a bug or not.

    • on March 14, 2011 at 9:13 pm

Thank you for that hint. Now I was able to fix it. You were right, the reason was that all posts belonged to all 4 categories and only the first cat is shown in the block title. But that’s not the way it should be. The cats selected in the settings should be displayed, no matter what – because a post can always have more than 1 category. I fixed this, e-mail me, if you want me to send you the fixed blocks.php file.

Still I’d like to be able to use & ” and ‘ in the cat names. Could you provide me a solution for this, please? =)

Fabulous theme. I have two quick comments. I have two questions:

    1. I changed the slider to only have one post, but it doesn’t save that way, it changes back to “3″.
    2. I used the facebook shortcode in my post. It looks great, but it says that 5,403 people like this post. Can we reset that number?

  • on March 17, 2011 at 8:08 pm

I fixed a problem with the display of the images with the Fancy Box installing the plugin Fancy Box for WordPress. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/fancybox-for-wordpress/

3.Included a featured image in the article
    4. And set the category in the amphion options in the slider tab.

Nothing shows… Is there anything i might be missing.. Thank you for your response.

Loving your theme—it’s the best one I’ve seen for an online web magazine.

I have one issue: since I deleted the ‘Hello world’ post, and replaced it with two original ones, the home page takes minutes to load. The individual pages are fine—just the home page. Would you know what could cause this?

I am happy to provide the URL, but off-list, as the site is still confidential.

Hey awesome layout, thanks a lot!

    two quick questions:

my categories are not spaced out evenly. one of my categories is camera. its first sub-category, ultra-compact cameras lies right below it. but the second sub-category has a thin grey line above it creating an extra space.

the second question: is there any way to get rid of the comment counters on the 4 category windows on the home page?

    thanks!

    • Towfiq I.
      on April 1, 2011 at 5:09 pm

It is because your blocks posts title is bigger. Try wriring custom excerpt for the posts to justify the size. And for the comments bubble,Go to Appearance > Editor and Find theses lines in blocks.php and remove them:

      1
      2

      <div class="block_comm"><?php if (!empty($post->post_password)) { ?>
              	<?php } else { ?><div class="comments"><?php comments_popup_link('0', '1', '%', '', __('Off')); ?></div><?php } ?></div>
